Saddened Sunday

Heartbreak Reads - A Week's Worth of Weepies

Read

We fold up the short story part of the week's theme with a Mahasweta Devi: ‘The Divorce’. She has a strong voice, can be acridly witty but is, above all, sanely human, humane and humorous. It is the art and artifice of the author that begins to pleasure the keen reader. Of course, even on the shallow approach of emoting, the skill is there in her writing.

Listen

We also conclude the verse section with some delightful Rupi Kaur. Listen to a selection of her dark chocolate bites.
"to all the women I've called Pretty"

"my heart aches for sisters more than anything"
